About Us

Dr. Zahra Ali is a comprehensive ophthalmologist. She finished her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in June 2012. 

The first thing Dr. Ali did after graduating was work for one year as a volunteer ophthalmologist for the Himalayan Cataract Project, a nonprofit promoting the highest standards of eye care in South Asia and Africa. She went to Nepal in South Asia and Ghana in West Africa. She developed patient education materials, gave lectures to residents and medical students, performed cataract and other eye surgeries, and helped organize outreach programs for underserved people in the region without access to the local hospital. 

She came back to the US May 2013 to establish her own practice in Hudson Oaks and Mineral Wells, TX. Dr. Ali's first priority is making sure that all of her patients are well taken care of and leave her clinic thinking, "this is where I would want to bring my mother for her care." 

Dr. Ali has two sisters, Dr. Shanaz Ali and Dr. Salima Ali. Her older sister Dr. Shanaz runs her own internal medicine and pediatrics practice down in Houston. Dr. Salima just finished up internal medicine residency at the University of Texas - Houston and is planning on doing a year in East Africa as a volunteer physician. 

In Dr. Ali's free time, she enjoys dancing, swimming, and spending time with her family.
